Competitive & Developmental Programs
USA Gymnastics Levels 4-Elite
Member USAG, USAIGC, NCWGA, NCBGA WCOGA competes both boys and girls competitive gymnastics both regionally and nationally. Our experienced coaches will help your aspiring gymnast to reach his or her full potential. Our recent graduate received a college scholarship to Stanford. We also offer a highly structured developmental program for talented young gymnasts to train them towards competition. Entrance is by try-out and coach recommendation. West Coast Olympic Gymnastics Academy is regarded as one of the finest competitive programs in the country. In fact, our boy’s team placed 7th in the nation in 2009 and 2010.
WCOGA is one of the few gyms that have been successful in producing national and collegiate level athletes. Many of our athletes have been awarded scholarships to some of the best universities in the country including Stanford University. Recent graduate
Steve Spencer was the 2009 NCAA silver medalist on pommel horse.
Christopher Turner, a current National Team Member, is one of 34 gymnasts
throughout the country to advance to the
VISA Championships.
The Visa Championships is the sport’s national championships where both the USA
junior and senior national teams are selected to represent the USA in
international competition. Chris has recently been offered and accepted a
scholarship to Stanford University where he will begin in the fall of 2010 Watch for great things to come!

WCOGA is also home to national development team members.The boy’s team is coached by Vince Miller who has produced over 100 state champions, 56 regional champions, and national champions. He is regarded as one of the best coaches in the country and currently serves as a
Junior National Olympic Coach. He has been awarded Northern
California Coach of the Year for the following years: 1990, 1993, 1995, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Izy Mlay heads up our younger team and is a past national team member whose reputation is known and respected throughout the country. He also teaches our boy’s recreational classes.
Our girl's team is coached by Darrell Boykins, Hilary Olivier, Joshua
Ruby, and Jeanine Ruby. They are responsible for over 15 collegiate scholarships and WCOGA has been one of the top girl’s teams in the Bay Area. Darrell has 30 years of coaching and helped build one of the most successful teams at Berkeley. Hilary has over 20 plus coaching years and even coached at UC Davis where she helped produce two National Beam Champions.
Our girls team has been successful over the past years in regional competitions and continues to be one of top girl's teams in the Bay Area.
