Vince Miller
Boys Team Head Coach
Vince Miller, who has a BA degree in Child Development, IS one of the founding members of WCOGA. He has been designated
Northern California Boys Gymnastics Association (NCBGA) coach of the year for the last two years and numerous times since 1990. In his coaching career, he has coached numerous successful gymnasts, including national event and all-around champions. His graduates have also gone on to receive college scholarships in gymnastics, most recently at Stanford University. Miller also has an extensive judging experience. Vince is the past chairman of the
NCBGA, having served since 2001.
Charlene Chen
Girls Team Head Coach
Charlene Chen, a former member of the China's Women’s
National Team, was awarded the “Coaching Certificate of Honor” by the Chinese
Sports Committee for her role in producing a number of championship athletes. In
her previous position at North Shore Gymnastics, she choreographed floor and beam routines.
Chen has had privileges at the Olympic Training Center, and has produced many state
and regional champions as well as United States National Team Members. At Bela Karolyis
Gymnastics Ranch in Houston, she trained several gymnasts to qualify for TOPS
and Elite programs.
Finally, she has coached several Levels 9 and 10 to become national beam champions.
Finally, she has coached several senior gymnasts to qualify for scholarships at nationally recognized
universities.
Luis "Nacho" Nava
Recreational Gymnastics Instructor
Luis comes to us with an extensive background in all levels of gymnastics. After graduation from SJSU with a B.S. in Chemistry/Nuclear Physics, he found himself with the opportunity to coach gymnastics and since then, fell in love with the sport. He has worked with recreational students as well as competitive team programs. He has worked with some of the finest coaches in the country including his personal favorite, Bela Karolyi. Luis is a gifted athlete who represented Mexico in tow artistic skating world
championships. He also attended the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs three times.
